Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research
The overarching goal of Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research (NCCCR) is to achieve 100 percent cure rate of childhood cancers with minimal side effects. The work of NCCCR seeks to include scientists, physicians, patients, families and the community.
Under the direction of Ayyappan Rajasekaran, PhD, NCCCR is working to create a National Cancer Institute-designated center where basic research closely complements clinical research in childhood cancers and develops strategies to advance cancer awareness, diagnosis and treatment.
Clothes in the Past Lane is dedicated to NCCCR's cause and holds an annual benefit called "Kids Runway for Research" in the form of a fashion show with children who are cancer survivors as models. The shows are held in September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Societyis the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
